How warts look

What’s ‘Warts’?

The dawn of the new year has filled our hearts with lots of positivity and goals which we have set to accomplish in this upcoming year. For some it may be taking their business to higher heights, fitness freaks must be desiring their dream body which was ruined in the past year due to binging and Netflix. And for some, it might by pampering and taking care of their skin which was neglected by the insecurities and uncertainties of the past year.

No sooner as I mentioned skin and restoring skin’s health many of us must be aspiring for the same. So, let me help you in this journey by taping on a very important skin concern but usually neglected because of our lack of awareness.

‘Warts’ are (commonly called Mausa, Massa, or Mas in Hindi) small, hard (sometimes soft) benign growth on the skin caused by a virus. It’s a small fleshy bump on the skin or mucus membrane. Warts are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Although warts are not harmful to your health they look ugly and embarrassing sometimes. They can be also painful.

There are 5 major types of warts depending on their appearance and where they can be found usually on our body.

1] Common Warts:

They usually grow on your fingers and toes but can appear elsewhere too. They have a rough, grainy appearance and a rounded top. Common Warts are greyer than the surrounding skin.

2] Plantar Warts: They usually grow on the souls of the feet. Unlike other warts, plantar warts grow into your skin and not out of it. It appears to be a small hole in the bottom of your foot that is surrounded by hardened skin. Plantar Warts can make walking uncomfortable.

Are ‘Plantar Warts’ and ‘Corn’ the same? This question must be definitely arising in our minds. The answer to it is: No. Plantar Warts and Corn are different. Here I want to mention some characteristics which make them different and easy to rule out.

Plantar Warts mainly occur on the heel and the ball of the foot or the underside of the big toe. Corn usually occurs between and on top of the toes but occasionally they can also appear on the ball and the heel. The appearance of a wart will have a dry crusty surface with tiny black dots deep inside, while the corn will have a surface that is thick and callused and there will be no black dots. Plantar Warts often develop in clusters while corns are always single and may be found in several different areas of the same foot.

3] Flat Warts: They usually grow on the face, thighs, or arms. They are small and not immediately noticeable. Flat Warts have a flat top as if they have been scrapped. They can be pink, brownish, or slightly yellow in colour.

4] Filiform Warts: They grow around your mouth or nose and sometimes on your neck or under your chin. They are small and shaped like a tiny flap or tag of skin. Filiform Warts are of the same colour as your skin.

5] Periungual Warts: They grow under and around the toenails and fingernails. They can be painful and affect nail growth.

Are ‘Warts’ harmful?

Usually, warts are not harmful to your health but sometimes warts may bleed or they may be painful. This might need medical assistance. Moreover, warts on exposed body parts like the face, neck, hand, etc. might look ugly or uncomfortable which would again call for a doctor’s help.

Never try to remove warts from your face or any sensitive part of your body (such as genitals, mouth, or nostrils) with at-home treatment.

HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT FOR WARTS

Homeopathy shows wonderful results in warts treatment. There is no pain involved in the course of treatment. The patient simply has to take regular medication prescribed by the physician and warts shed off from the body.

Homeopathic treatment also reassures in the recurrence of warts by treating their cause.

Here I am sharing a few cases of warts which was successfully treated by homoeopathy.
