Pandemic remedy for life

Every dark cloud has a silver lining!! Every new arduous start has a vibrant ending! The fine line which separates and differentiates between beginning and ending is bridged by destiny. Every dawn announces the arrival of the dusk. In the same way, starting an ordeal that gives an unpleasant experience for a prolonged period of time that ceases any ray of hope will come to an end one day. But the beauty lies in the unprecedented arrival of the end. The hidden and unknown end for any ordeal is real evaluation and the acid test for human beings for their weak as well as strong inner self. Let’s take an example of the current pandemic which confined us from several activities but on the other hand unfurled and unlocked the gateway towards the boundless possibilities. This classical wisdom was alluringly explained by a sacred personality having infinite wisdom Syedna al Moayyad al Shirazi RA.

سيفتح باب اذا سد باب * نعم وتهون الامور الصعاب

If one gate of opportunity or hope is adjourned, another gateway of possible opportunities will open. And yes, thereby diminish the anguish by decreasing its potent.

Introspecting the days passed during pandemic gives us a moral lesson of taking good care of our own selves. For me, the best take away from the current pandemic is minding P’s and Q’s of life. The pandemic allowed us to decrease the unnecessary fast pace of life. The hustle and bustle of daily chores were calmed down by the omnipotent power of the creation. The two mandatory activities imposed by the pandemic are remarkable in itself.

1) Wearing masks &

2) Social distancing.

Both are introduced to keep personal harm limited to self only. A person, if affected with Covid-19 can restrain and hold back himself from spreading it to others by embracing these rules.

What a noble and pious thought is learnt from these two activities! Our personal harm should not progress and move towards others. A human being should always take care of mankind. He should always remain vigilant in performing any task by avoiding any harm to mankind through his activities. I want to cite a unique initiative taken by the Australian Government in connection with minimizing harm to mankind by closing the airport by 11 pm. The world’s renowned city doesn’t allow flights to land after 11 pm just to safeguard the tranquillity of its citizens. And, on the other hand, we are disturbing the calmness of our citizens. HOW? By solemnizing the events at late nights and honking recklessly on the streets. Due to the pandemic, we have adapted the new normal of staying indoors maximally and winding up our outdoor chores before 10 pm or 11 pm so that we are back with our family in our safe zone. All these measures were taken to safeguard our fellow beings. In the Islamic studies, Rasulullah SA stated that “Those who don’t care about their neighbours, their descendants will not survive and will diminish from the world. Also, Rasulullah SA stated that don’t remain satiated and full while your neighbour is starving. How can one harm his neighbour and mankind? If just not inquiring the well-being of neighbour is a sinful act, then what could be the enormity of the sin where neighbour or mankind is hurt?

This is a time to step into a new world where we care for the wellbeing and welfare of one another which will ultimately prove beneficial for our wellbeing and welfare. “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction” states the Law of Newton; which should be implemented in our deeds too. We will definitely yield good times in the future if we perform virtues and righteous acts now.

The ups and downs in life both matter equally. Because every time balancing with life requires the same force applied from the other side. But more the force applied from the other side, take us more atop. This is a marvelous beauty to be understood. “The more the trails and tests the more elevated is our destiny!”.

The well-known saying of eminent Urdu poet Allama Iqbaal highlights the above fact clearly.

This pandemic gave us a period for harnessing and horning our abilities. It gave us time to empower and unleash our capabilities giving us a pause, which could have never been possible in the regular outgoings of life.

Not just the cyber and IT world but most of our offices and businesses are adopting the trend of the ‘work from home’ model, as it seems more reliable in preserving the resources required to attend physically. Going with the current is the need of the hour, which will act as a catalyst in balancing our work and home life. Going against the current will bring anxiety and uncertainty as well as depleting an enormous amount of energy from within us.

The story, “Who moved my cheese” written by Spencer Johnson is the best way to deal with this change in life. The writer amazingly explains the way to adopt the diverse situations in life. Hence, embracing tweaks in the system will make us more flexible and productive.

Wishing all our readers a graceful pandemic life!!
