The current era is an era of social media. If a person is not having enough money to look after his sustenance, still has a subscription to Netflix, Hotstar, etc.
To make the above thought more clear let’s understand with an example; Recently I visited a building where a watchman was living in an 8*6 room with his big family but to all our surprise he was a proud owner of a 42inch LED TV.
The money ransacked by these giant entertainment agencies is done by hijacking our minds.
Here I don’t want to show sympathy to those who are victims; I want to applause those who are the accused. Perceiving the victim as an innocent individual will not do justice to the accused.
What the youth of the current age is up to;
1. Either busy in watching porn. (Thanks to jio for easing 4G plans in India).
2. Or, engaged in social media rivalry. Social media rivalry is the most devastating tool of the current era. Live instances are explicit examples of that. The commenter on social media thinks himself as an army man fighting on the border. He thinks himself smart and eloquent by commenting under the fake IDs.
3. Or, trying to please the world by posting imitated, well curved and edited photos just to count the likes of the visitors.
I think The President of America is not the strongest man on earth. I am not wrong if I say Google, Facebook, Instagram are ruling the world. They have the data of our every click.
I am also sure that there is a proportion of our earning directly or indirectly filling the pockets of these enormous media companies. They know your likes and dislikes. They know what to show you and what to not. They espionage your every movement.
You just open the site and the options of your recent search are shown in a very appealing manner. Thanks to the privacy policy which is veiling the porn search.

I think a man’s body can fast with ease but cannot restrain from social media for a single day.
Is blaming them right?
To blame and summon media houses is a very easy and serene escape from our responsibilities. Survey shows that teenage and millennial are more addicted to social media. The term addiction should not be taken for granted as an addicted person requires rehabilitation and rejuvenation. It’s quite evident from the news that young minds are vulnerable to suicidal thoughts if they are prohibited or limited to the usage of social media. Recently news surfaced that a child started to bang his head on the wall when refused to play PUBG by his parents.
People are discussing that sex education should not be considered taboo in our society. It should be dealt with utmost priority.
I think, changing trends shows that how to use social media should also be incorporated into the curriculum and its usage and benefit should be shown to the young minds. The proper molding of young minds can bring fruitful and remarkable results.
The bigotry and hatred circulating in social media amongst the tender minds can provoke them to take a step which can make them susceptible to crime and offense. The news anchors and debaters are hijacking the minds by serving false stuff and fabrics. Their virus is more devastating and injurious to mental and physical health than coronavirus. The fatality rate is unimaginable if it will influence young minds.
I remember the revered verse of Quran e Majeed where Allah Ta’ala clearly states in Surat al Hojoraat..
“O People who believe! If any miscreant brings you some tidings, verify it, lest you unknowingly cause suffering to some people, and then remain repenting for what you did.(6)”
This article doesn’t want to highlight the negative side of social media it just emphasizes to ponder on the current situation. As hijackers take the benefit of the poor security arrangements or find the way even in the most secured fortress to accomplish their work, likewise social media hijack’s all your concentration and decide the roadmap for you. This article doesn’t intend to stop using social platforms which is helpful in learning anything at a speed which is unimaginable. It just takes the opportunity to highlight the mindful use of it. People are talking about social media detox which is sometimes necessary to shut your senses from getting distracted during your course of work.
I am pleased to end the article with an instance which will help in memorizing al Quran al Kareem:

I am overwhelmed to mention the name of a Khidmat guzar al Mohtaram M Kumail bh Sk Yusuf bh Bohra who detoxed himself from social media during his journey of memorizing al Quran al Kareem for a few years. This lesson is the best example for each individual who wants to accomplish his quest of hifz al Quran. M Kumail bh is the epitome of example in himself in this regard. May Allah help us to divert our strength in the right direction by which we can achieve our quest at the earliest in our life.
Best of luck !!!
