Few students are shining stars!

I am unable to forget two batches of students in my life. Even after more than a decade, I am not able to find students who have the caliber as they were having.

I will mention the name of all of them in my article further, but the intention here is to discuss how a student should prioritize his activities in life.

At the initial stage in schools, the art of learning and studying should be groomed and developed properly. A student’s life should revolve around the pursuit of learning only. The distraction nowadays is infinite but the firm decision to stick to the purpose is desperately required.

The above-mentioned quality is sometimes quite evident from the students who realize their priorities and toils accordingly. Here I want to discuss what I admired from the two batches of students;

What strikes me most is their expedition to not getting frustrated by low Tahfeez marks.

I still haven’t forgotten their approach when they get good marks which certainly allow continuing jadeed but owing to their exceptional talent we were asking more marks from them and they were ready to accept the challenge.

The spark to achieve more marks never faded in them. Here I want to clarify that I don’t want to emphasize on marks or marks oriented behavior I want to discuss their quest for improvement.  Even the most frightening Muhaffiz amongst the Talabat, was often not able to deduct a single mark from their performance.

Let me begin with the first batch.

1) M Husain Dr Sk Idrees bh

2) M Aqeel Abbas bh

3) M Murtaza Shabbir bh

4) M Husain M Zohair bh who joined the league later but displayed extraordinary performance

5) M Burhanuddin M Mustafa bh

This batch was unique in itself. The top-notch created by them was really difficult to be imposed for the next batches

I guess during that period sanawat was named as makan A, B, C. Three of them were promoted from Makan C to Makan B in a single day. Which I haven’t observed to date.

The challenges faced by students are increasing every day and each challenge is increasing expectation to excel in every field. The term holistic approach or 360-degree improvement looks appealing, but sometimes make the situation difficult for the student. That doesn’t mean it’s unachievable seeing the current moment, where resources are abundantly available. The commuting time is decreasing, the comfort level is increasing, the proper and most efficient information technology is available 24*7 which diminishes the validity of the excuses at all.

Now I want to discuss the second batch.

M Abdeali Mansoor bh

M Husain M Abdul Husain bh leelwala

While doing tasmee of above two talabat I was never worried to count the Tanbeeh and Talqeen as if they have capped their performance below 3 to 4 talqeen in all Tahfeez activities. Few students make an exceptional impression in life. Every teacher has his own experience and every student has his own unique and special feature. Identifying and working upon it is the real acid test for both.

Each subject has its unique characteristic and element which should be embraced before learning that particular subject. e.g.: Learning English requires different features compare to learning science. Likewise, memorizing Quran has its own attribute which should be practiced and adopted. The most important and significant of all is remaining assiduous throughout the journey of hifz al Quran al Kareem.

The revered wish of Aqa Maula Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS that “each and every Mumins household should have at least on Hafiz” is the driving force between all of us, which is pushing everyone to cross the limits and go beyond any hurdle to accomplish Maulas wish.

I still find this subject arduous as it requires special dedication and exceptional focus.

The well known saying ” Slow and steady wins the race” should be implemented to accomplish the quest of Hifz al Quran al Kareem with ease. Best of luck to all who are continuing Hifz and finding it difficult to remain constant. Just don’t despair if you are improving even at a diminutive pace because even a small drop if accumulated every day can make an ocean one day.
