Punctuality !!

Few individuals register a niche for themselves. They overcome every obstacle as though it was a cinch. Due to their great wisdom and exceptional strength, they surpass a high voltage matter like a piece of cake.

The social media domain is flooded like anything on the topics of punctuality. But live examples and incidences make an exceptional impact on us. Observing a few individuals keenly, about how they maintain their attribute in their desired field is not less than reading an encyclopedia. Watching Sachin Tendulkar smashing the delivery coming at the speed of 150 Kms towards the fence, makes the eyelids wider. But investigating the practice behind the shot makes the person wiser. Watching Sachin Tendulkar playing is just entertainment and superficial happiness. Although, observing Sachin Tendulkar toiling behind the field, increases our respect and admiration for him. A proven key to success is punctuality which requires sustainability.

The term punctuality looks simple and doesn’t require any explanation but working on it every day asks for commitment and undesired sacrifices.

When we start GYM we presume that within weeks we will have a perfectly carved body. The journey towards the destination looks easy on the first day. However, day by day the fire which was brewing the first day will start to extinguish and probably diminish after a few days. To keep the spark ignited, the fuel of inner motivation is required. Sustenance of fire is possible only with unconditioned punctuality. At a certain point when improvement will not be noticed the only hope that remains, is punctuality. The more time invested without longing for results the bigger results will be yield. Elephants require 18 to 22 months to give birth. Owing to the huge size of the baby elephant, it requires this much time to form the complete baby. The time required to accomplish a work depends on the enormity and the nature of the work.

How to start with little and remain constant is discussed in our previous blog…

https://www.service-to-mankind.com/2020/07/big-results-are-achieved-by-small-steps.html

Sometimes, starting with a small and diminutive pace seems useless. But the real rule to change anything requires small and tiny steps. I read a book where the author says that targeting the minimum challenge is the key to achieving big. Target just one push-up per day. This sounds totally useless but every day performing the same makes a remarkable difference. This is how remaining punctual becomes easy.

I remember, one of our Qasida Ustaz cited the sacred words of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA which is filled with utter prudence and wisdom” Memorize single Bait every day and at the end of the year you have memorized the sum of 365 Abyat”.

This is the objective behind the remaining constant and punctual.

Hifz al Quran al Kareem requires punctuality and sticking to the goal with a minimum target every day.

Amirulmumeneen Maulana Ali ibne Abitalib SA states;

قَلِيلٌ مَدُومٌ عَلَيْهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ كَثِيرٍ مَمْلُولٍ مِنْهُ.

“Remaining persistent even on a small portion is better than working in abundance just once and getting tired of it”.

As I discussed about the live library, which is trending nowadays, I want to cite an example of our former Masool e Aam, one of the eminent and our favorite Ustaz, Janab Sk Saifuddin Bh M Abdul Qadir bh Indorewala :

who was having a remarkable attractive aura. Whose presence in the class enthralls the atmosphere with joy and happiness. His capacity to identify and fill life in the dead ideas and matters was outstanding.

The most prominent part of his personality was attending class specially, or any meeting generally, always before time. He enjoys accomplishing his work before time.

Also would like to cite the example of my mentor Janab Sk Murtaza bh Qaari:

he always instructs us to be punctual in class. He illustrates punctuality by quoting the example that if you invite someone for a feast, your presence before the invitee’s arrival is of utmost importance. Likewise, as a muhaffiz you are the host and the students are the invitees, your attendance before students’ arrival makes a surprising impact. If janab fixes a time for a meeting or anything else he doesn’t fail to reach before time.

Also, I would like to give the reference of Al Moeed Sk Mustafa bh Sk Fakhruddin Bh Khachrodwala:

who is profoundly famous for his punctuality. He is always before the clock strikes his arrival time. As I discussed, to be punctual requires an extraordinary approach to make it happen. Managing to complete the chores beforehand is not an easy task. The trait of punctuality is not as easy as presumed.

How students can inculcate the attribute of punctuality in them?

When we talk about student’s punctuality, we observe that the reason behind their punctuality is beforehand preparation. Those who are not prepared are intending to be late purposely. We don’t want to be late in movies as missing the beginning will not allow us to understand the remaining part of the movie. The same realization requires to be implemented in students’ life which will change the approach towards learning and understanding.

For students, completing assignments just before the submission date or studying the whole night before the exams will not help in the long term. The notion of remaining punctual is not just arriving on time; it’s more about constantly working on a project or on a pursuit without any excuse.

In the end, I will tenderly request to the reader to add the name of the individual whom you feel are punctual in them. It might be your colleague or an individual from your fraternity or a person from your family. I also request, to add a brief description of that individual. I will try to add to this blog.

Best of luck!!
