Since, the last decade, or more, we are hearing this term PCOD very commonly. Many young girls and women are falling prey to it. Almost, in every family, you’ll find female suffering from PCOD. Researches have shown that one in every 10 women are suffering from PCOD in India. And out of every 10 women diagnosed, six are teenage girls. The occurrence of PCOD is increasing at an alarming rate in the society. So, creating awareness is mandatory for early diagnosis and treatment.
Today let’s discuss about PCOD, how we can fight against it and make lives better.
What is PCOD?
Polycystic Ovarian Disease or in simple term, it is a hormonal imbalance which leads to difficulty in getting pregnant during childbearing years of a woman.
It also leads to:
- Irregular periods
- Weight gain
- Acne
- Unwanted body and facial hairs
- Mood swings
These are the most common symptoms of PCOD.
After understanding what is PCOD, let’s discuss how we can eradicate it from our body.
Modern medicine doesn’t have a cure for PCOD. They don’t tap the root cause of it. Medications are prescribed just to manage the symptoms.
So, is it impossible to get rid of this disease? Answer to it is YES!
Yes, female suffering from PCOD can definitely find a cure by changing certain lifestyle and dietary habits. Homoeopathic medicines also help in attaining the cure. It eradicates PCOD from the root. Also, during the course of homoeopathic treatment, those lifestyle and dietary changes has to be undertaken which will hasten the process of cure.
Here are few steps which will help in the journey of cure.
á Avoid processed and packaged junk food items –
o This is a crucial step. If you take it lightly, then you are creating a big hurdle in the path of cure. Say a big NO to pizzas, burgers, chocolates, refined flour etc.
o Eat a balanced diet which comprises of vegetables, seasonal fresh fruits, protein rich food like pulses, paneer, chicken and a little amount of complex carbs like roti, rice, millets etc.
o Include fermented food like curd, idli, dosa and sprouts for the dose of vitamin B12 which will help ovaries in proper functioning.
o Try eating fresh fruits during the daytime. Avoid aerated and sugary drinks.
á Exercise –
o It is inescapable to exercise at least 20 minutes under an expert’s guidance.
o Weight loss is pivotal in the journey of cure.
á Sleep –
o Good quality sleep is a salient step, where your bedtimes must be scheduled for fixed hours every day.
o A good silent sleep helps in regulating hormonal balance in the body.
á Avoid plastic –
o A woman suffering from PCOD should avoid drinking water from plastic bottles. Also, if you carry your lunch or snacks in plastic boxes, then it should be avoided too. Plastic bottles and lunch boxes should be replaced by either stainless steel or glass containers.
o One might wonder how plastic and PCOD are interrelated. Plastic when comes in contact with water or food, it drains some chemicals which mess up with the hormones in the body.
Thus, here I conclude with a note that it is an arduous journey to fight with PCOD but not impossible.
Proper medication, healthy eating habits and some lifestyle changes can definitely help in getting rid of this disease from the body.
Here, I would like to share one of my successfully treated case of PCOD with homoeopathic medicines within a span of around 10 months.
