FAQs related to the hifz al Quran al Kareem

Q1- Is memorizing the Quran an easy or tough task?

Answer: If you are regular, memorizing Quran is easy and if you are irregular then memorization is an arduous task. Regularity and persistence are the keys.

Q2- How much hifz a student should do on regular basis?

Answer: It differs for every individual; a subtle and practical bifurcation is given by SHZ Husain Bs Burhanuddin Saheb Dm in his special sessions delivered named (التيسييرفي حفظ القراْن الكريم). However, memorization of one juz per month is ideal. Moreover still if anybody memorizes less and he is persistent then also it is an ideal situation. I would recommend here to readers to read this book, “Think and grow rich”. click here

Q3- What is the most preferred time for Hifz?

Answer: Morning time is said to be the most preferred time for memorization of anything. However, few people do prefer to select any other time. But before and after fajr namaz is the best time advised for memorizing anything.

Q4- Do we require Muhaffiz for hifz to assist us or we can do hifz by ourselves?

Answer: Almost all the tasks can be done alone and also with the help of mentors and coaches. The general phenomenon in sports is, each and every athlete or team requires someone to help or assist them. For me, selecting an expert coach is more important than wasting precious time and money in getting satisfied with a less qualified guide. Only a few people have the quality of becoming coaches for their own self.  Hifz is a new subject for a student hence, without a proper help of an expert it’s difficult to complete within an acceptable time period. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards my mentor janab Sk Murtaza bhai Qaari. His pearls of guidance I still remember while performing tahfeez khidmat.

Q5-How to stay motivated during the journey of hifz?

Answer: If you want to accomplish any unusual task, you require constant motivation for it. Self-help guides and motivational speakers name it as an “inner motivation” or “inside out motivation”. For each individual in our society, the major motivational factor is to attain the august happiness of Aqa Maula TUS. Progressing in hifz every day is in itself a motivation. No bliss in life is bigger than reciting al Quran al Kareem on daily basis. I personally feel that Quran memorization is eternal bliss and no mortal thing can be compared with it.

Q6- What is the shortcut to Hifz?

Answer: For me, the shortcut is “slow and steady wins the race”. If you over speed anything then the chance of accident increases.

Q7- How much “minimum time” is required to complete the revision of one JUZ?

Answer: It depends upon the quality of hifz. If the level of hifz is good then 35 minutes is enough else weaker hifz can take more than 3 hours or sometimes more to complete a single juz.

Q-8 How much time is needed to do one-page Jadeed?

Answer: Again it differs for every individual but one rule of thumb can be applied that each ayat kareemah should be divided into smaller parts and recited at least 25 times.(depending upon the capacity of each individual).

Q-9 What if a student is not able to clear sanawaat ikhtebaar?

Answer: No defined rule can be set for clearing ikhtebaar. If a student doesn’t clear sanawat  ikhtebaar in two attempts; he/she should do the tasmee of all memorized juz at least 10 times. Most of the students exhaust themselves during this period. Ikhtebaar is an integral part of hifz. Owing to the less time spent and lack of effort invested in revision, ikhtebaar tends to remain unclear. The revision gets weaker by every passing day if proper attention is not given.

Q-10  What is the suitable age for hifz?

Answer: It is presumed that one should complete hifz before the end of tender age. However, in the luminous era of Maulana Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS, at any age, one can think of completing hifz. Aqa Maula TUS has broken the ice by giving motivation for hifz for every age group. Either an aspirant is an infant or has passed the age of 70 can memorize al Quran al Kareem. One intriguing fact I want to highlight here is: even professionals in any field are accomplishing this enormous task while prevailing in their field. We have live examples from each spectrum of professions and age who have completed the memorization of hifz al Quran al Kareem.

Q-11 How many pages in Juz haali should be done on daily basis?

Answer: It depends upon how many ajzaa you have memorized; till 15 Juz, 7 to 10 safhaa juz haali is enough. Beyond memorization of Juz 15 till the end, 15 safhaa juz haali is better.

Each and every mumin’s ultimate wish is to accomplish memorization of hifz al Quran al Kareem. It’s not about just learning verses by rot and repeating them for memorization. It’s about an eternal task whose reverence can’t be measured in any tangible form. It’s a habit that can’t be compared with any usual habit. The ecstasy of completing this sacred task has its own aura which influences each and every person related to the accomplisher. And ultimately this delight multiplies when the accomplisher gets the privilege to receive the certificate of hifz signed by Aqa Maula TUS.
